My Sweet Story
Hi! I'm Sarah Gawel and I'm the owner of Life's A Batch. I am a home based baker and I abide by the Illinois Cottage Food Laws.
Growing up I had always been one to work with my hands. From doing art in school and in summer camps, to helping my dad to odd jobs around the house. I also was always one to admire the fancy cakes and cupcakes in the windows of bakeries and fancy cookies that had so many different designs.
Christmas of 2020 came along and I said to myself "This is the year, I'm gonna try my hand at making those fancy decorated cookies this year". So I bought all the supplies that I thought I would need (way more than I actually needed) and brought them all to my folks house for that years baking with my mom.
That set of maybe a dozen simple snowflake cookies, took probably about 6+ hrs of watching you tube, going step by step, and trying not to screw them up. When I was finished I was surprised at how decent they looked and decided "yeah, I can do something with this new form of art found".
That's when my adventure began. From then on I kept working to get better, watching videos, practicing and here we are! Making your life sweeter, one cookie at a time!
